Safety Assessment of Coal Mines Based on Principal Component Analysis
Accidents in coal mine have frequently occurred in recent years. It is urgent to evaluate the safety grade of a coal mine scientifically and effectively, because a comprehensive assessment of safety status will improve the safety in coal mine production. However, coal mine safety is influenced by many correlated factors and thus hard to evaluate. This paper proposes an evaluation method of safety based on principal component analysis. At first, original evaluation data of different coal mines are marked by experts. Then the linear relationship between evaluation variables and safety grade are extracted, which can reduce the overlap information among factors effectively. Finally, the evaluated function based on principal components is established, so that the safety grade of the coal mines can be calculated. The case study in the end shows that, the proposed method can reduce the high dimension of evaluation variables and objectively reflect the safety status of coal mine as well.
