NONLINEAR FINITE ELMENT ANALYSIS ON THE LOADING BEHAVIOR OF TOWER TYPE OILING DERRICK

It is widely used of the tower type (or shape) oiling derrick with its unique structural characteristics. By employing the finite element software ANSYS, a typical TJ2-41 tower type oiling derrick model is established. The loading behaviour of the structure under static loads as well as the eigen buckling and nonlinear buckling are analyzed. The deformation, component forces and the stress distribution under the design loads are presented. And the first four eigen buckling modes with the buckling loads are given. Furthermore, the load-displacement curves and the ultimate capacities of the different models with or without initial deformation are compared. The correspondence can be further employed in the design of the new oiling derrick and the inspection of those in service.
