THE SIMPLIFIED LOAD-DISPLACEMENT CURVE OF SHEAR WALLS
The simplified 3-broken line load-displacement curve of flexure-dominated shear walls is erect. The cross-section at shear wall base is discussed, When the inner longitudinal boundary reinforcement in tensile side yields, the geometric central of confined concrete in compression side reaches its peak strain, and the outer confined concrete in compression side reaches its ultimate strain, the cross-section corresponds to its yield curvature, peak curvature, and ultimate curvature respectively. Based on the plane-section assumption theory, the stress and strain distribution of the cross-section under different condition is determined, and the simplified moment-curvature relationship could be obtained by the axial force-equilibrium. According to the shear walls curvature distribution pattern, the base shear-top displacement relationship can be obtained too. Compared to test results, it shows that this method is effective. It provides a valuable thought to shear wallsnonlinear performance evaluation.
