EFFECTIVE LENGTH FACTOR OF COLUMN IN BRACED STEEL FRAMES WITH ANGLE STEEL SEMI-RIGID CONNECTIONS
The modified factor formulas, which are applicable to braced steel frames, are derived by considering relative rotational stiffness of beam-to-column connections, by considering moment-rotation nonlinear behavior of semi-rigid connections in whole loaded range, finite element models of steel frames with two webs and top-seatangle connections are established using ANSYS program. Through bucking analysis of braced steelframes with semi-rigid connections, the effective length factor of braced steel frames is derived. The calculated formula, which is fit for braced steel frames, is gained by considering semi-rigid connection of two webs and top-seat angle joins.
