Research on Methods for Modeling Engineering Knowledge Base
Advanced modes of manufacturing put requirements on information integration and function integration at every stage of the product life cycle. Function integration needs supporting of the knowledge base. The study on the methods for modeling knowledge base can help to build knowledge base simply and quickly, thus promoting the realization of advanced modes of manufacturing. There are two primary issues for solutions to develop software, namely software engineering process and software engineering process supporting environment. In order to choose correct development methods and the corresponding modeling languages, object-oriented methodology and structured methodology are discussed in detail, and UML and IDEF modeling languages coming from the two methodologies respectively are elaborated too. With the development of high-speed cutting database, the models and modeling languages needed for building engineering knowledge base are given.
