A hysteretic model for square concrete-filled steel tube beam-columns
Hysteretic model is of great significance to cyclic analysis of square concrete-filled steel tube (CFT)structures. In this study,moment-curvature (M-φ)hysteretic relations of square CFT beam-columns are simulated and a macroscopic hysteretic model for them is presented.Local buckling behavior of square CFTs differs from that of hollow steel tubes due to the existence of the inner concrete.Based on the results of previous research,a phenomenological stress-strain model for the steel tube is proposed to consider the effect of local buckling.M-φhysteretic relations of square CFT beam-columns are simulated and investigated using fiber element modeling.A hysteretic model is then presented by a nonlinear regression on the numerical results.Validity of the hysteretic model is verified by a comparison of numerical results with the experimental data.
