An online monitoring technology for visualization of 3-D high temperature field based on radiation image processing

This paper presents a real-time monitoring system with visualization of 3-D temperature reconstruction based on image processing technology.In this system,a radiative image-formation model was adopted to establish the relationship between the radiation images and the 3-D temperature distribution inside a high temperature industrial system,and a modified Tikhonov regularization method was used to reconstruct the 3-D temperature distribution from the 2-D temperature images transformed from color images.This technology has been successfully applied in several fossil-fuel-fired power plants and a hot-rolled plant to visualize the 3-D combustion temperature fields,and in a strip casting process to monitor the height level of the molten steel pool.The on-line monitoring results demonstrate that this technology is useful for the combustion diagnosis and control in boilers and industrial furnaces,and for monitoring of any high temperature process in steel and iron industry.
