Direct recycling of stainless steelmaking dust
The investigation of direct recycling of stainless steelmaking dust was carried out in this study.It aimed to recover metals present in the dust and protect the environment.The direct recycling of stainless steelmaking dust was to make pellets with binder by mixing the dust and the reducing agent carbon,and then introduces the pellets to the electric arc furnace (EAF).The valuable metals in the dust were reduced and recovered to the steel as the alloying elements.The results showed that the direct recycling of stainless steelmaking dust was practicable and would not affect the chemistry and quality of stainless steel produced.It was benefit not only for the environmental protection but also for the recovery of valuable metal resources.
