Microstructure and precipitates of X120 high strength pipeline steel
A new ultrahigh strength pipeline steel with yield strength 950 MPa has been demonstrated by means of scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, and the charp impact toughness of this steel at -30℃ is 227J.Obsevation has shown that the microstructure of the steel comprises a majority of the low carbon lath bainite with different sublaths and sub-sublaths,meanwhile there is high density of dislocation between laths and a small amount of dispersed film-like martensite-anstenite (M-A)constituents.The precipitates in this steel are most of duplex type containing Nb and Ti with characterized morphology of cap.The precipitation sizes observed are a few tens to a few nanometers.
