Failure analysis of materials during manufacture and in service provides a valuable insight into material behaviour and an understudying of this can lead to solutions that minimise risk of costly failures.Failures result from various causes including metal fatigue,corrosion,defects generated during production,service wear and tear,poor maintenance and poor specifications.
