0 IntroductionThermal spraying has an excellent standing in the field of surface coating technologies.In order to reinforce its strengths,knowledge about the growth and market potential of the technology is decisive and goes hand in hand with research and development activities.For this reason and to determine the current status of the thermal spray market,Linde initiated a special study.We would like to take this opportunity to extend our specials thanks to the 14 experts and enterprises who helped to conduct the study,and to all the members of GTS e.V. who readily answered the related questionnaire (GTS = Association of Thermal Sprayers).
