Fundamentals and advantages of rapid solidification
The fundamentals of rapid solidification have been summarized,including rapid solidification processing,cooling rate,solidification path,solute trapping and interface stability.There are some peculiarities of rapidly solidified alloys,including composition metastability,structure metastability and morphology metastability.Rapid solidification remarkably influences the physical,chemical and mechanical properties of alloys.Finally two examples of rapidly solidified materials have been introduced.
