Oxidation of type 304 stainless steel under simulated reheating conditions
The oxidization of type 304 stainless steel at simulated reheating conditions was carried out.The results show that the oxidization of type 304 stainless steel proceeded preferentially along defects at lower oxygen concentration or uniformly at higher oxygen concentration.The scale thickness is affected by the parameters at a certain range.Corresponding to the same oxygen concentration,the holding time has minor effect on scale thickness below 1150℃.With a certain holding time,the oxygen concentration has minor effect on scale thickness below 1150℃.At the same temperature,the scale thickness increases with increasing holding time and oxygen concentration.
