Development of corrosion-resistant ferritic stainless steel B443NT
Along with the fluctuation of nickel price,cost-effective ferdtic stainless steels with corrosion resistance comparable to that of austenitic stainless steel SUS304 have aroused intensive interest from end users and steel manufactures worldwide.Recently,Baosteel has successfully developed a new ferritic grade B443NT,which exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion and satisfying mechanical properties and formability.Currently,B443NT has been applied to kitchen-ware production,elevator manufacture,automotive exhaust system and other applications.The present paper presents the experimental results and describes the producing process and the properties of B443NT steel sheet.In addition,suppression of sticking during hot rolling,texture control and suppression of ridging in B443NT are briefly discussed.
