Study on Performance of Cool Storage Tank with Rectangular Capsules for Refrigeration System
The model describing thermal performance of cool storage tank with rectangular capsules during charging period is established.The solidification heat transfer problems have been solved by a simple method based on the heat resistance method.The thermal properties of the cool storage tank have been discussed.The calculation results have been compared with the experimental ones,and the agreement is satisfactory.The results show that outlet temperature of the coolant and heat transfer effectiveness of cool storage tank decrease as the coolant flow rate increases.The heat transfer effectiveness of cool storage tank is larger during initial charging period,and gradually reduces to approximate constant value as the charging process continues.The results can provide bases for dynamic performance analysis of the stacked rectangular capsules cool storage system.
