Two-dimensional Electromagnetic Image of Kamojang Geothermal Field,Indonesia by CSAMT Data
Controlled-source audio frequency magnetotelluric (CSAMT) survey was carried out at Kamojang geothermal field, Garut, West Java, Indonesia which is known as one of vapor dominated systems in the world.. The transmitter was located about 3-5 km in South West from receiver. Stations (about 200 to 500 m spacing) were taken with irregular space stations covering the Kamojang Geothermal area. This research aims to delineate the characteristic of Kamojang geothermal field by means of the resistivity structure. In this paper we applied non-plane wave effect correction before applying two-dimensional (2-D) magnetotelluric (MT) inversion analysis of transverse magnetic (TM) mode. 2-D CSAMT inversion results show that the resistivity structures in Kamojang Geothermal area composed mainly of three layers, that are, high resistivity in the first layer overlying low resistivity in the second layer representing the cap-rock and resistive electrical basement in the third layer corresponding to the reservoir of geothermal system
