Development and application of FEM model simulating UOE forming process in Baosteel
UOE pipe,the best quality welded pipe in the world,is well-known for its stable quality and high reliability.According to features of UOE forming process,a FEM model is established based on theory of planar elastic-plasticity to numerically simulate pre-crimping,U-ing press,O-ing press and mechanical expanding process.Stress distribution and deformation of plate during the whole forming process are discussed,effects of process parameters on spring back are also researched,which further verified by comparing with production test data.Based on the FEM model,we have optimized forming process parameters for all test sizes of Baosteel UOE production line,and pipes meeting technical specification of LSAW line pipe for 2nd west-east pipeline project have been successfully produced in the factory.
