Cooling process and transformation behaviour of a high strength steel during quenching
The plate quenching process of a high strength steel was simulated on the bases of thermal history by using a thermo-mechanical simulator.The results show that in quenching process,cooling path has a large influence on the transformation process,ferrite transformation is well governed by the average cooling rate,but bainite transformation is not.It is suggested that the microstructure control for desired properties is expectable by a well designed and controlled cooling process.
