Microstructure and texture of interstitial-free steel fabricated by continuous frictional angular extrusion
Continuous frictional angular extrusion (CFAE)is a new method of severe plastic deformation, which takes advantages of rolling and equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE)and gives an exciting idea for producing ultra-fine grained metals and alloys. The deformation was carried out at room temperature and individual sheet specimens were repeatedly processed to various passes. An overall grain size of 200nm was achieved after 8 passes. The present paper discussed the properties of microstructures and textures during the process of deformation, which were analyzed by high resolution EBSD,X-ray diffraction (XRD)and hardness testing.
