Current research, development and industrial application of dense phase pneumatic conveying
This paper outlines the current research activities of the centre for Bulk Solids and Particulate Technologies at the University of Newcastle,Australia,in area of pneumatic conveying and gas-solid flow. The major thrust of this work is to more accurately predict conveying line pressure drop as the major design parameter when predicting system performance. The paper outlines research work being undertaken in the area of transient modelling of dense phase gassolid flow and the application of this work to bypass systems. The paper also covers the work being undertaken in the classification of bulk solids for pneumatic conveying and the prediction of erosive wear in pipelines in order to predict pipeline remnant life.
