Research on ore matching optimization theory and method basing on self-characteristics of iron ore fine during sintering process

Self-characteristics of iron ore fine include room temperature, microscopic, and high temperature characteristics.Self-characteristics of ore fine, especially high temperature characteristics, have a great influence on product yield and quality of sinter.First of all,self-characteristics of 16 kinds of ores from four countries have been researched, showing great differences in self-characteristics,especially in high temperature characteristics, such as low assimilation and weak forming ability of compound calcium ferrite (SFCA)in Brazilian ore, high assimilation and strong forming ability of SFCA in Australian ores, high self-strength of bonding phase in ores both China and Brazil. This is a key factor determining different behaviors of ore fine during sintering. Then, theory and method in ore matching optimization basing on self-characteristics of ore fine during sintering have been proposed.Schemes of ore matching optimization have also been designed. Results from sinter pot experiment and metallurgical properties test gave strong evidence to support the advantage of ore matching basing on self-characteristics of ore fine.
