Challenges facing Chinas ironmaking industry in the first two decades of 21st century

In 2007,Chinese steel industry produced 489.24 Mt of crude steel and 469.44 Mt of iron.After entering the 21st century,the rapid growth of Chinas ironmaking industry has brought about high demand for natural resources and emergence of vast number of small and medium blast furnaces with heavy impact on environment.This paper analyzes the challenges that Chinas ironmaking faced in the first two decades of the 21st century and the prospect of ironmaking industry in China.
