SIMULATION AND COMPARISON OF FLUID FLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER USING LATTICE BOLTZMANN METHOD
This paper demonstrates the potential of Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) as a new approach for numerical simulation. The results show that for lid-driven cavity flow, the LBM has been successfully demonstrated to be an alternative scheme to traditional methods. For natural convection in cavity, LBM using two distribution functions performs well in horizontal and inclined cavity. For the natural convection in cavity with a heated vertical plate, LBM reach an agreement with the results of experiment and SIMPLE with QUICK scheme. But the simulation ranges of Rayleigh number are finite at the certain Prandtl numbers. In general, LBM is an effective and promising simulation method. It stands in the state of incessant improvement.
