INCOMPRESSIBLE LATTICE BOLTZMANN MODEL FOR POROUS FLOWS WITH LARGE PRESSURE GRADIENT

In order to drive a fluid in a porous media, a large pressure drop is usually required. Under such cases, the standard lattice Boltzmann equation which uses the equation of state of ideal gases may fail to work due to compressibility effect. In this paper, we propose an incompressible lattice Boltzmann model for porous flows which can overcome this difficulty. Numerical results demonstrate that the model can use a large pressure without the compressibility effect.
