Design of Delayed Discrete Systems with State Observers via Variable Structure Control

In this paper, the discrete systems with the state time-delay and the state observer are discussed. The observer of the discrete systems with the state time-delay is proposed based on Lyapunov stability theorem. The problem addressed is to design a fullorder observer to guarantee the asymptotical stability of the error dynamic systems for the discrete systems with the state time-delay and the state observer and the discrete systems with the state time-delay and without any state observer. An effective linear matrix inequality approach is developed to solve this problem. Based on observation, variable structure control(VSC) is designed by VSC law. Then this method is applied on perturbed systems. Finally, an illustrative example is used to demonstrate the validity of the proposed design method.
