A Novel Static Frequency Converter Used at Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Plant

摘要：

A novel Static Frequency Converter (SFC) used at pumped-storage hydroelectric plant is presented, which adopts new circuit topology and Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT). The circuit configuration, the operating principle, and the running effect of the new SFC are described in detail. Comparing with the traditional SFC, the novel one has the advantages of compact structure, excellent performance and low harmonic content.
