Simulation of Sliding Mode + PI Rotor Speed Closed-Loop Control for Switched Reluctance Machine

The block diagram of the Switched Reluctance machine system with the sliding mode plus PI rotor speed closed-loop control was described with the components, the principles, the mathematical mode, the switch function, the current control rule and the rotor speed control rule. The simulation module of the sliding mode algorithm controller and the simulation module of the sliding mode + PI algorithm controller were presented based on MATLAB simulink platform. The simulated results of the rotor speed curves at starting under the sliding mode algorithm controller and the simulated results of the rotor speed curves at starting under the sliding mode + PI algorithm controller were given. The simulated results show that the developed prototype based on the sliding mode + PI rotor speed closed-loop control has the well dynamic performance with no dithering, no overshoot and no static error in the rotor speed.
