Green Wave Project In Urban Arterial Streets

In this paper, the optimal coordinated traffic lights control in arterial streets is studied. The traffic lights are configured to minimize the average waiting time of vehicles through the way. First, the definition of signal through is given and it is established that the essential and sufficient conditions for the throughway to realize two-direction signal through, i.e., green wave project. Then, based on the left and right non-synchronism degree defined, the mathematics model of optimal traffic lights configure approaching green wave in the artery is established. It means that the object is average waiting time of the vehicles through the artery with several intersections will be least. Finally, the setting plan is obtained through the solution of the model as given the inputting traffic flows.
