Design of Output Feedback Model Predictive Control For Uncertain Discrete-time System

A novel design of robust model predictive controller is proposed for uncertain discrete-time system. The robust model predictive control law based on output feedback is derived such that a worst-case infinite horizon objective function is minimized. According to model predictive control approach, at each sampling time, the controller is calculated by minimizing an upper bound of a quadratic cost function over infinite time horizon. The optimization problem is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Stability of the closed-loop system is demonstrated. The design of model predictive controller is illustrated with numerical examples.
