LMI Techniques for Stabilization of Flight Control System with Time-Varying Delay in a Range

In this paper, we deal with the stabilization problem of flight control system with timevarying state delay in a range. Based on an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and the linear matrix inequality (LMI) method, an asymptotical stability criterion of the flight control system is obtained. The resultant memoryless state feedback controller is designed to overcome the adverse effect on the aircraft caused by time delay due to high angle of attack flight condition. Simulation investigation is carried out based on a high-performance fighter aircraft similar to F-18 and the result shows that the designed controller is effective.
