Congestion Control over TCP Networks Based on Terminal Sliding Mode Control Algorithm
As for the problem of congestion control in transmission control protocol (TCP) networks, an algorithm of an active queue management (AQM) scheme based on terminal sliding mode control (TSMC) algorithm is proposed in this paper. By designing a terminal sliding surface and control methodology for network system with uncertainties, the queue length in router can converge to the desired value in finite time. In addition, we propose a novel reaching condition to effectively reduce chattering. By applying the reaching condition to the system, the proposed controller can effectively restrain oscillation of the queue length in router. We also discuss the implementation issue of the proposed controller. Matlab simulation results demonstrate that the proposed controller has better stability and robustness than common sliding mode controller in different scenarios.
