Research on Grey PID Control for Continuous System

A novel design method of grey PID control is proposed according to the control requirements of a continuous system and structure characteristics of a multi-variable grey model. Combining the grey system theory with conventional PID control, a grey model GM(0;N) of the continuous system is constructed and the system control effect is directly determined by a conventional PID controller in the initial stage. Meanwhile, the parameters of the GM(0;N) model are estimated via accumulated generating operation. Then the compensation control is employed to eliminate the influence of uncertain part on system performance by utilizing the prediction control variable due to parameter estimation. Finally, a simulation experiment for the control system is taken on Matlab. Simulation results demonstrate that this control method is efficient and practical for a continuous system.
