The Application of Multivariate Extreme Value Theory on the Calculation of Design Wave in Yellow Sea Area under the Influence of Typhoon
Multivariate extreme value probability model includes block component maximum value model, threshold value and point-procession model. Aiming at the condition that the intension and distribution of wave are affected directly by the path and frequency of typhoon. This paper gives multivariate extreme value distribution model which considers the annual different frequency of typhoon in various sea area and the corresponding ocean extreme states. And then this model is applied to calculate the joint probability of wave height, concomitant wind speed and periods induced by typhoon in Yellow sea area. The results of examples indicate that the new model is more reasonable and stability. This model provides new theory and method for the research on the design criteria of ocean engineering.
