A Study of End-to-End Video Robust Transmission via Internet
With the rapid development of IT, the heterogeneous networks not only unite and intercommunicate mutually, provide a variety of services based on TCP/IP protocol, but also convert and transfer in packet mode. Therefore, forming IP-oriented network and services have already become a development trend. However, factors such as the isomerism of IP net, the fluctuation of network bandwidth, packet loss in grouping mode and network time-delay have great effects on the transmission of services, especially the video which has a fluctuant bandwidth and is sensitive to time-delay. This paper analyzes the characteristics of IP network structure and video. Based on the consideration of the encoder, channel and decoder, the paper proposes a mathematical model and brings forward a solution to the security of robust video transmission. Results of the tests and simulations show that the solution has effectively diminished the impact of fluctuation of network bandwidth and time-delay on video quality.
