Post-IDFT Multidimensional Beamforming for STC-OFDM Systems
A post-inverse discrete Fourier transform (post-IDFT) multidimensional beamforming for space-time coded-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STC-OFDM) systems is proposed. The proposed scheme combines the space-time block coding (STBC), the post-IDFT beamforming and the multidimensional beamforming. By the eigen-decomposition of the channel correlation matrix, multiple post-IDFT beams are formed for the STC-OFDM systems. Simulation shows that the proposed scheme has better performance than STC-OFDM in the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) range. Besides, the proposed scheme achieves the same space-diversity gain as the subcarrier beamforming, meanwhile greatly reduces the computational complexity.
