Order Reduction and Stability Region for Multi-Time Scale Electric Power Systems

In many physical systems, we concern not only the stability at some equilibrium point but also the boundary of stability region correspond to the stable equilibrium point of our interest, such as electric power systems. In this paper the boundaries of stability region for multi-time scale systems (original system) and reduction order of system are discussed. And the continuous dependence of the boundary of stability region on the perturbation parameter for a multi-time scale system is revealed, and required conditions of reduction order are given. The conclusions presented in this paper establish the theoretical foundation for analyzing of transient stability on power systems.
