Order Reduction and Stability Analysis for Multi-time Scale Power Systems(Part Two—reasonability Analysis of Order Reduction)
The structural reserved models are obtained by neglecting the fast dynamics in electric power systems. However, the stable and unstable manifold of corresponding equilibrium position of simplified system may be different from that of original system, and the simplified model may lead to qualitative error sometimes. This paper addresses the reasonability of order reduction on stability region research. First a two-time scale singular perturbation model for single generator infinite bus system is derived based-on physical circuits with both slow and fast transients included. Second the required conditions for order reduction are identified. Third the system stability consistency before and after neglecting fast transients is studied, and the reasonability of order reduction in the stability analysis is proven.
