Complexity Science and Research on Military Systems
In order to have a deep cognition of military systems, this article probes into the methods, theories and tools of research on military systems by applying complexity science. Firstly, discussion on the meaning, representing forms, origin of complexity, and the in°uence of informatization on military systems are discussed. Then some methods, theories and tools of complexity science are introduced. Lastly, several questions to be studied are put forward, namely, how to assess the significance of complexity of military systems? how to analyze the function of sub-systems, even the function of units inside the military system itself? how to understand the evolution process of oppositional military systems? Eventually, the conclusion obtained is that complex adaptive systems theory and the multiagent based on simulation will play a very important role in the research on military systems.
