Non-Fragile Observer-Based Control for Linear Systems with Measurement Disturbances

This paper investigates the non-fragile observer-based control problem for a class of linear systems with measurement disturbances, controller and observer gain perturbations. Two types of uncertainties which perturb the gains of controller and observer are considered. To solve the problem that the measurement disturbances can degrade the performance of the conventional observer-based control systems, a descriptorobserver approach is proposed. The descriptor observer is derived to estimate system states and measurement disturbances simultaneously. The design method of a non-fragile observer-based controller is then formulated in terms of Lyapunov approach and linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques. In this design, the considered measurement disturbances may be unbounded and the resultant non-fragile observer-based controller guarantees that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.
