An Incremental Partition-Based Clustering Algorithm in a Batch Mode

Clustering is a useful kind of method in data mining. It can be used to discover groups and identify interesting distributions in the underlying data. At present, there are many kinds of algorithms proposed for clustering. However, there are a few of researches on the incremental clustering algorithms. With the increasing data in the database, all clustering results should also be updated. Not only brings reclustering a waste of time, but also the operation efficiency is decreased. Based on k-means algorithm, an incremental partition-based clustering algorithm in a batch mode is presented, which can improve the efficiency of clustering analysis greatly.
