Reconfigurable ERP System Based on BOX and SOA
To overcome the monolithic and internal focus nature of the traditional ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and help the enterprise cope with the dynamics and complexity of the present business environment, reconfigurable ERP (RERP) was proposed as the new development direction for integrated enterprise systems. The concept, classification of reconfiguration and the requirement analysis of the RERP system were discussed. BOX was designed as the reconfigurable enterprise business model which was composed of an enterprise structure model, an enterprise process model, an enterprise cost management model and a decentralized decision-making model. RERP system architecture based on BOX and SOA was also proposed to fulfill the requirements of both enterprise business model reconfiguration and information system reconfiguration. The proposed architecture can support initialization and dynamic reconfiguration, intra-organizational and inter-organization reconfiguration of the ERP system. The research can provide theoretical supports to the development of the future RERP systems.
