Optimization of PID Parameters Based on Classical Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

This article proposes a new technique for the optimization of PID controller parameters. Based on the comprehensive analysis of performance influence brought out by various control parameters, we use the Classical Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (CPSO) to optimize PID parameters, which is different from the case that standard PSO model is employed, and obtain some results also compared with the corresponding conclusions provided by Genetic Algorithm. Through the choice of the range for PID parameters according to the optimized inner-kernal given by ZieglerNichols method, the good effects of the algorithm is shown by a simulation examples in the end up of the paper.
