Sub-Optimal Distance Based Forwarding Scheme (SDFS) for Sensor Networks:Multi-Hop Performance Analysis
In the wireless sensor networks, the energy consumption will be minimized by the balance of the transmission energy consumption and the receiving energy consumption in multi-hop communication. This paper proposes a forwarding technique based on the sub-optimal distance and random selection of the relaying node in a local circle, and focuses on the multi-hop performance analysis of such a solution. The relationship between the radius of local circle r and the sensor density ρ is described, which can ensure the routing success. Then, the pessimistic energy consumption and the optimum energy consumption are analyzed. Accordingly, the real energy consumed in the scheme will have a satisfied range. Finally, simulations demonstrate the validity of the claims.
