ANALYZING ON EVOLUTIONARY STABILITY OF THE VENDOR-MANAGED INVENTORY SUPPLY CHAINS
One of the strategies that can lead to effective coordination in the arena of supply chain management is the Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) method. The objective of this paper is focused on obtaining the intrinsic evolutionary mechanism of the VMI supply chains by applying the evolutionary game theories. In particular, the trend of the channel members’ evolutionary stability is examined under a short-term and a long-term application of the VMI approach. These analyses identify the conditions under which the VMI model is favorable over the traditional chain structure.
