EXAMAING THE ROLE OF INNOVATION DIFFUSION FACTORS ON THE IMPLEMENTATION SUSCCESS OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS: THE CASE OF ELECTRIC POWER CORPORATION IN CHINA
Based on Rogers’ Diffusion of innovation theory, this paper explores IS success of electric power corporations in China. Drawing from the information system success, critical success factors of ERP implementation, innovation diffusion theory, and technology adoption literatures, an integrated theoretical model is developed that IS success if influenced by environmental, organizational, task-related, innovation-related, and user-related factors. Collected from 8 electric power corporations, 113 valid data were analyzed with SPSS 13.0. The results suggest that all four factors, except task-related factor, influence IS success, and provides support for 7 of the 12 hypotheses.
