Analysis on the Evacuation Performance of Exit in Densely Populated Buildings

Digital tests of crowd evacuation flow are presented, in which 400 pedestrians were stochastically distributed in a space measuring 24000×21000 (mm). Crowd behavior phenomena, such as arching, jamming, self-organizing could be observed after certain critical points. From a comparison of the digital tests, it could be seen that, with the changes of egresss parameters in densely populated buildings, the pedestrian flow performance shows different character, especially when only one exit is available or two exits are too close between. It illustrated that the ADMP was efficient in the simulation of pedestrian flow and fire safety management.
