Risk Assessment and Prevention for the Shanghai World EXPO Main Street
Due to it multi-function, the EXPO Main Street has a complex passenger organization system including elevated road, ground level and underground space. Compared to buildings above ground, it is more difficult for underground space to take actions for heat and smoke exhaust, communication, egress and rescue. Therefore overall precaution should be taken into account to minimize loss in case of disasters or terrorist attacks during planning and design stage.
