A Risk Analysis and Mechanism Diagnoses of Triggering and Maintaining El Nino/La Nina Based on Adaptive-Neural Network Fuzzy Inference System

Methods and approaches are discussed that identify and filter off affecting factors (noise) attached to primary signals, based on the Adaptive-Neural network-Based Fuzzy Inference System. Influences of the zonal winds of equatorial eastern and middle/western Pacific on the SSTA in the equatorial and their contribution to the latter are diagnosed and verified with observations of a number of significant El Nin o and La Nin a episodes. New viewpoints are proposed.
