Tourism-climate Resources Assessment and Risk Analysis for Core Scenic Spots of Great Jiuzhai
As one of the best international eco-tourism scenic areas, the Great Jiuzhai has not only 3 national and 5 provincial scenic areas but also has rich climate tourism resources. This paper analyzes several traveling-climate resources including the illumination, heat, moisture content, air pressure as well as wind speed, followed by its risk characteristic evaluation, basing on statistical calculation of meteorological observations from the weather stations in Jiuzhaigou, Hongyuan, Songpan and Ruoergai as well as several automatic weather stations over Jiuzhaigou. Results show that the core scenic spots of Great Jiuzhai (CESGI) is suitable for the traveling during eight months every year, coupled with the rich climate scenery, becoming one of the worlds best eco-tourism scenic destinations. However, the plateau-climate characteristics here have also created obstacle to a certain extent. Moreover, the trends of precipitation and water level decline and the annual average air temperature raise in the study place since the 1980s have increased the risk of tourism-climate resource exhaustion. This is related to both the resource overexploitation therein and the abnormal warm events in recent one hundred years. How to keep the sustainable development and utilization of ecotourism resources in great Jiuzhai tourism zones is a problem to be studied further.
