Risk Assessment and Regionalization of Grassland Fire Disasters in Western of Jilin Province

Grassland fire disasters have occurred frequently and infected graze and social-economic development deeply in the grassland regions of Jilin province, China. Morever, both the frequency of grassland fire and loss from them were considered to be increasing with the climate change and economic development. The purpose of this study is to quantitatively analyze and assess the risk of grassland fire disasters. Taking the west of Jilin province as a case study area, the natural disaster index method, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and weighted comprehensive method are employed to make the grassland fire disaster risk index (GFDRI) model. The four factors and grassland fire disaster risk index are calculated in every county of western Jilin. In the end, we make a risk regionalization for the study area. The study has found that the most places of western Jilin province are in mediate risk state. Zhenlai, Tongyu are in the state of heavy risk. Taobei, Ningjiang, Fuyu are in the state of light risk. The study areas dont have any severe risk place. The results are proved to be valid and could provide the reference for emergency evacuation planning and grassland fire disaster management.
